In your time of need, who will come to your aid? The Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps. needs you to help your neighbors in their time of need. Joining us means that you will:
- Feel good for life,
- Learn effective first aid skills,
- Be a committed volunteer, helping your friends and neighbors, and
- Work with a great group of people that enjoy helping others.
All prospective members must be:
- At least 16 years of age,
- Currently certified in CPR,
- Currently certified as an Emergency Medical Technician,
- Be physically capable of performing EMT duties,
- Live or work in Franklin Lakes or adjoining communities,
- Must submit an application to the Corps.
Training to be certified in CPR or as an EMT is provided at no cost to you. Training is available at the Police and Fire Academy in Mahwah or at the Bergen County Emergency Medical Services Training Center in Paramus. Classes are available at various times throughout the year. Membership is subject to a background check and an interview.
Full riding members are available for 1 (12 hr.) shift/week and 1 (12 hr.) weekend shift/month. It is also requested that you stay in town during your shift for a quick response.
